My heart is sick..
Sick for the family of the fallen soldier Max
Sick for the treatment that may be meted out to some innocent citizens of Obuase
Ghana has lost such a gallant soldier because of galamsey
Which of the stories should I believe?
Should I believe that the jogging soldier stopped to ask women for direction?
Should I believe that an assemblyman tricked him and cause him to be killed?
Should I believe that the trained soldier with a pistol decided not to defend himself When he was under attack?
Oh Maxwell, did you really have a gun with you?
Why didn't you use your gun?
Are the stories surrounding your death cat and bull ones
Concocted to cast a slur on our professionalism?
Oh who can explain it better to us?

Oh since when did the proverbial Ghanaian hospitality disappear?
To the extent of killing a visitor sent to protect national resources?
To the extent of stoning..
Stoning and setting ablaze a full blooded innocent security officer of our motherland?
Ha! To the extent of mothers lending a helping hand not to the suffering officer
But helping to set him ablaze?
O you woman of Obuase,
Who set fire on the security officer, you have done the unthinkable.
The video has traveled the whole world.
You've destroyed the reputation our mothers have toiled for since the time of Yaa Asantewaa
Some of us are actually saddened, sick and surprised
So Ghanaians are no longer peaceful and peace loving?

Oh young Soldier Maxwell
You were doing well what you were trained to do
But some wicked selfish people
have cut your life short
may your gentle soul rest in peace.
