IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORM
IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STORM
Text: Mark 4:36-41
36 So they left the crowd and took him away in a boat without making any special preparations. Other boats were with him. A violent windstorm came up, and the waves began breaking into the boat, so that the boat was rapidly becoming swamped. 38 But Jesus was in the back of the boat, asleep on a cushion. So they woke him up and asked him, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to die?” 39 Then he got up, rebuked the wind, and told the sea, “Calm down! Be still!” Then the wind stopped blowing, and there was a great calm. 40 He asked them, “Why are you such cowards? Don’t you have any faith yet?” 41 Overcome with fear, they kept saying to one another, “Who is this man? Even the wind and the sea obey him!”
Jesus used this miracle to teach His disciples the need to put their confidence in his ability to save to the uttermost. If you belong to him, there is no need to fear whatever goes on in your immediate environment..
A man just got married and was returning home with his wife. They were crossing a lake in a boat, when suddenly a great storm arose. The man was a warrior, but the woman became very much afraid because it seemed almost hopeless:
The boat was small and the storm was really huge, and any moment they were going to be drowned. But the man sat silently, calm and quiet, as if nothing was happening. The woman was trembling and she said, “Are you not afraid ?”
This may be our last moment of life! It doesn’t seem that we will be able to reach the other shore. Only some miracle can save us; otherwise death is certain. Are you not afraid? Are you mad or something? Are you a stone or something?
After using all comforting words to assure his wife that it would be well with them, the woman wasn't convinced. He therefore began to do something unthinkable...
The man laughed and took the sword out of its sheath. The woman was even more puzzled: What he was doing? Then he brought the naked sword close to the woman’s neck, so close that just a small gap was there, it was almost touching her neck. He said,” Are you afraid ?” She started to laugh and said,” Why should I be afraid?,If the sword is in your hands, why I should be afraid? I know you love me. "He put the sword back and said, This is my answer”.
I know God Loves me, and the storm is in His hands SO WHATSOEVER IS GOING TO HAPPEN IS GOING
TO BE GOOD.
As we enter the second half of this year, everything is in His hands and He cannot do anything wrong.
Whatever life gives you, even if it hurts, just be strong & act like you're okay because even strong walls shake but never collapse. He who is our strength and strong tower will see us through as Victor.
No matter how raging the storms of life have been to you, remember.. Jesus is in your boat ⛴... Stay calm, the storm will be over.
Stay blessed.
