INTRODUCTION: THE GLORY OF GOD IN C.O.P.
The Church of Pentecost in which we now find ourselves, by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, is a glorious church by all standards. Consider our membership, number of assemblies, number of ministers and officers, external branches, church buildings, mission houses and vehicles….. What can we do to keep the glory of the church in order to also keep ourselves in the glory?

WHAT IS THE GLORY OF GOD?
The glory of God refers to the visible presence of God among his people, sometimes called the "Shekinah" glory by later rabbis. "Shekinah" is a Hebrew word meaning "dwelling (of God)," employed to describe a visible, active manifestation of God's presence and glory. Another Hebrew word “Kabod” is also used to connote God’s favorable disposition imputed upon His people.
Moses saw God's Shekinah glory in a pillar of cloud and fire (Ex. 13:21); in Ex. 29:43, it is called "my glory" (cf. Is. 60:2). It covered Sinai when God gave the law (see Ex. 24:16-17), filled the tabernacle (Ex. 40: 34), guided Israel in the Wilderness, (Ex. 40:36-38, and later filled Solomon's temple (2 Chr. 7:1; 1 Ki. 8:11-13).
More specifically, God dwelt between the two cherubim in the most Holy place (1 Sam. 4:4; 2 Sam.6:2; Ps. 80:1).
Ezekiel saw the glory of the Lord in the temple of God (Ezek.10:4) rise and depart from the temple because of rampant idolatry there (Ezek.10:18-19).
In the New Testament, Jesus manifested the Shekinah glory of God in human flesh who came to dwell among men (John 1:14).
The shepherds of Bethlehem saw the glory of the Lord at Jesus' birth (Luke 2:9),
The disciples saw it at Christ’s transfiguration (Mat.17:2; 2 Pet. 1:16-18),
When Stephen was being stoned to death, he was privileged to to see it (Acts 7:55).
WHAT DOES THE GLORY OF GOD BRING? ( 2Chron 7:15-22)
A lot can be captured when the whole of 2 Chronicles 7 is carefully read…
Unmerited favour of God. That is what God has put in store for you as a believer.
Unqualified blessings…Claim them by doing what is right and keeping your part of the salvation covenant.
But take note curses and misfortunes are also attached for those who blatantly flout God’s directions!!
